Matthew Deas is Senior Health Advisor for Digital Health Systems at Jhpiego. Matthew has a masters degree in Business Information Systems and has been working on informatics tools usage and implementation in developing countries for the last 15 years. His current work encompasses the entire Software Development Life Cycle – through strategic system analysis, software development and customization of existing systems, the structuring of data flows from these systems to periphery systems, and the planning required to maximize effectiveness of the tools and supporting resources in a development environment. Currently, Matthew assists in the support of various projects related to DHIS2 instances, and is extensively involved with data exchanges between various systems. Matthew is also involved in mobile data collection tools (REDCap, ODK, Commcare, Kobo), software development, and implementation of machine learning based technologies.
